Asking Sam: how it works.
- Ask anything about building, renovating or retrofitting in Ireland. No question is too basic.
- Sam reads every question. He can't answer them all, but he'll get to as many as he can.
- If an answer could help others, we publish it on Ask Sam. We only show your first name if you tell us we can, and we never show your email.
- Please don't post adverts, prices from your own business, or anything about a named person you've had a dispute with.
- Sam's answers are general guidance from a builder. For your own project, check with your engineer, architect or solicitor before you act on them.
- Grants and rules change. Where an answer mentions one, we link to the official page and show when we checked it.
